So, before I start this blog entry let it be known that I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!! He and I sat down together and really discussed what would be best for our family and decided that him taking this job in Charlotte, in February was the best choice. We knew that I would be here with the kids until the end of June, but knew there was an end in sight and it was doable. That being said....
I am sooo tired. I adore my kids, my husband, my job, my church. I'm really very content when it comes to the people and things I've chosen to surround myself with. Ideally, I'd like for my kids to see their grandparents more, and for us to be closer to both of our families, besides that, Life is good. If you are a mom, you know that taking care of a 5 year old princess (depending on the day) and a 2 year old dinosaur (depending on the day) can be a full time job. On top of that, I do work a full time job outside of the house and I try to be actively involved in my church. My house is on the market, so I have to keep it clean constantly, hard to do with the princess and the dinosaur. I have to do it all and sometimes it is a bit daunting, but I've managed to get it done. At the end of the day I feel a sense of accomplishment that all is done and I've had a purposeful day. Today, even more so. I grilled. Yep...it's not one of those gas powered grills either, I lit charcoal today. Grilling is always the man's job in our house, but with no man around, I was beginning to miss those grilled burgers this time of year and wanted to change that. I also wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. A friend of ours showed me how to light it up, let the coals turn a nice ashy gray, etc. And... I did it. At dinner tonight (yes, it wasn't until 8 o'clock) Ellie told me these were the best burgers I ever made. She quickly followed that statment with the comment, "oh wait...these are the only burgers you ever made." Thanks. They were pretty darn delicious if I do say so myself. Next on my grilling menu is going to be some chicken and steaks. I'll keep you posted.
So, the sun went down. My house is clean, my kids are bathed and asleep, my clothes are folded and mostly put away, lunches are all planned out for tomorrow, and I grilled today. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be venturing more into "man job territory" this week because my grass is getting long and my HOA is quick to acknowledge such things. I can do it, it doesn't matter that Justin says the mower is very difficult for even him to start. It doesn't matter that I already packed my dirty tennis shoes that would be ideal for mowing in. It doesn't matter that I haven't mowed a lawn since Justin was in Iraq, 7 years ago. I can do it.....Or, I could just hire someone to do it for me!!! Any takers??
Yes, I'm tired and perhaps a bit overwhelmed with my to do list from day to day, but I'm blessed beyond measure.
