This has been an amazing summer! It was so busy and I loved every second of it. The first couple weeks of July we went to Texas that I wrote about in my last post. When we got home, our neighbors who moved to Ocean City came for a visit. It is so much fun having a house full of people. If you know me very well you know that I LOVE entertaining people at our home. We had a cookout with other neighbors and friends and had a great time. Ellie and Hayden got to play with Kayla and Jack and we got lots of great pictures. The following week we decided we had such a great time visiting with the Brady’s that we decided to go visit them! It was such a fun quick trip. I’m trying to recall the details. We left on Friday with my friend Laura and her girls, while Justin worked for the day. It was a fun road trip. We get to Jill and Don’s house and decide the first thing we want to do is swim!! Kids had a ball, but we didn’t swim long because we wanted to do dinner on the beach. Our first night we went to “Seacrets”, super fun place with a sandy floor and palm trees. I was loving it!! Good food, good drink, live music, great atmosphere. Definitely a tourist spot… perfect for us. Justin joined us at the restaurant when he got off work and finally made it over the Bay Bridge. The next morning we went to the beach. We had a group of 11 to find a spot for on the beach, so that meant we had to get there early! It was SOOO much fun! I love getting to that point when the ocean isn’t freezing anymore and you can feel the waves just gently rolling over you. Even Ellie went out into the ocean. I was so proud of her… it definitely took her time to warm up to the idea of the ocean, she would get a few feet from the edge of where the water would run up and just sit there and hold her nose. Such a cheeseball, but pretty stinkin cute. She loved playing, but wasn’t prepared to have sand everywhere. Hayden LOVED the sand and had it everywhere! After spending the day at the ocean we went back to the house, got cleaned up and went for some good seafood for dinner. Both Justin and I had crab cakes, our favorite, it was great! Ellie and Kayla were inseparable and had a ball. After dinner we went to the boardwalk, such an interesting place to people watch. We decided to eat dessert on the boardwalk and holy cow…we consumed so much junk it is unreal!! Cotton candy, peanut butter fudge, salt water taffy, and Fishers carmel corn- all in one night. To end our boardwalk/beach weekend/Ocean City visit we rode the ferris wheel. It was perfect ending. Thanks to Jill and Don for letting us stay with you and being such awesome hosts!! I can’t wait to do it again!
