A new chapter...

It has been months since I've blogged, so I decided it was time. So much has changed in our life since November when I last wrote about the happenings in the Powell household. Christmas was magical, we stayed in town and just enjoyed our friends and family. My baby boy is now 2!! We had a truck themed party with an awesome pinata. Ellie is now 5, and her party was a huge luau. Then, the really big news...Justin has resigned from his job at DRS, and is currently working for Juniper at Time Warner Cable as resident engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina. While we've loved our home, friends, church, etc. here, we are really excited to move onto a new adventure. The path that gets us all to that new adventure has been a little bit more trying. Justin started his new job on February 14th. The kids and I have decided that we are going to stay here until the school year is over. This means...the Powell family doesn't get to live together until the end of June. So far, we've managed to skype a few times a week so the kids can see their Daddy (and I can see my hubby). It's been doable and nothing I can complain about since this was the decision we made. I get to talk to him a few times a day and we text and google chat almost everyday. He is trying to come home every other weekend and the weekends he's been here have been fantastic. I have so much respect for all you single mothers who do it all by yourself, all day everyday. I'm eagerly awaiting June to arrive so we can all be together on a regular basis. Now, if only I could wiggle my nose and my house would be clean, packed, painted, and we'd be on our way. These pictures were made this weekend when Justin came home. It was our first time to ever have family portraits made. I wasn't crazy about any of the family pics, but what can you do? By the end of our session, the kids were promised ice cream to have a real smile and keep their eyes open. They did a good job for the most part. I'm so blessed to have a family that I love and adore.
