On March 29th, Ellie had surgery on her foot. This past summer it was brought to our attention that her foot turned in when she walked. Something we had never noticed before, she compensated for it so well. We talked to our pediatrician and she referred us to Dr. Mchale, a juvenile orthopedic surgeon. Ellie needed to have a tendon released on the inside of her right foot that was causing her foot to grow in. If we didn't get it fixed, my sweet baby girl wouldn't be able to wear cute shoes as she gets older!! No way was I going to let that happen!! She had outpatient surgery and they treated her like a princess. Everyone that stopped by had stickers, candy, DVD players, pictures of their kittens, etc. They loved having a sweet little girl on the operating floor. Her surgery was at 11:00 am and we left the hospital by 2:30! It was one of the best hospital experiences we've ever had. Our preacher, Stephen Rollins, even stopped by and was the first person to sign Ellie's cast. By the second day, Ellie was running around in the back yard in her cast. She has adapted well and has the cutest little light blue cast I've ever seen! In about 6 weeks her cast will be off, and she'll be able to wear any shoes she wants!!
